Fugitives / Equipment Leaks

Fugitives Emissions Calculator

Component-count method for equipment leaks.

Input assumptions

Activity data
count

%

Weight percent of the selected pollutant in the stream.

hr/yr

8,760 hr/yr for potential to emit unless an enforceable limit applies.

%

Only claim control you can document and enforce.

Emission factor

Per-component factors depend on service type (gas, light liquid, heavy liquid) and industry segment. Cite the protocol and table used.

Calculation result

Enter valves, connectors, flanges, … to see results, or fill demo values to explore.

Calculation methodology

Average emission factor approach. Sums component counts multiplied by per-component factors for total hydrocarbon, converts to pounds, then applies the weight fraction of the pollutant in the stream.

E (lb/hr) = Σ [ Nᵢ × EFᵢ (kg/hr/component) ] × 2.20462 (lb/kg) × W
